Terms of Use
Spot a Paw is a shared rescue map for stray animals. It only works if people can trust what they see on it. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content
There is no place in Spot a Paw for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not post, send or share anything that:
- harasses, threatens, bullies or abuses anyone, or targets people for who they are;
- is sexual, hateful, violent for its own sake, or otherwise offensive;
- shows or encourages cruelty to animals (a photo of an injured animal to get it help is fine; content made to shock or celebrate harm is not);
- is false, misleading or spam, including fake reports, or asks people for money;
- shares someone else's personal information, or exact locations of feeding spots marked sensitive, without their consent;
- breaks the law or someone else's rights.
Every report, comment, post and profile has a Report option, and you can block anyone. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and remove or suspend the accounts of people who post it.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older. Give accurate details and keep your password safe.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete Account. This removes your account and your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. What you post
- Your reports, photos, videos and comments stay yours. You allow us to show them in the app and on shared report links so people can help the animal.
- Only post photos and videos you took or have the right to share.
- Pins show where an animal was seen, not where you live. Don't post other people's homes or private property in a way that identifies them.
4. Safety comes first
Spot a Paw connects people; it doesn't send anyone to rescue. Approach animals only when it is safe, follow local laws and the advice of vets and shelters, and never put yourself or others at risk. Information on the map comes from other users, and we can't guarantee it is complete or accurate. In an emergency, contact a vet, a shelter or the authorities.
5. The service
- Spot a Paw is free. We may change, pause or stop features to keep the service safe and working.
- To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for what other users do or post. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded.
- We may update these terms. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
6. Contact
Questions, or something on the map that shouldn't be there: support@spot-a-paw.com, or Contact Support in the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
